I suppose one good thing about being stuck at home for the next few weeks is that I might actually get chance to do a bit of reading which I rarely find time to do under normal circumstances.
I have actually read some of these so can highly recommend a few…
The John Peel, Viv Albertine, Tracey Thorn, Motley Crue & Nile Rodgers biogs are all must-reads.
Plus, Matthew Collin’s account of the birth of Acid House culture in the UK, ‘Altered State’, ‘Moby’s Porcelain’ and Peter Hook’s ‘How Not To Run A Club’ are all great too.
Coincidentally, Mixmag actually just posted their favourite 23 books on Dance Music which feature several of those I’ve already mentioned..

And another great list worth sharing was put together by my ex-Deputy Editor at Mixmag and good friend, Nick Gordon Brown which again has a few crossover selections..

Also, now the kids are off school, I’ve got them on a deal whereby they must read 50 pages of a book everyday before they’re allowed on their X box so if anyone has any good recommendations of great books for 14, 13 and 7 year old boys, they’d be greatly appreciated 🙂
Happy lockdown everyone.
