As my current release with Quivver & Brianna Price, ‘Rockets & Rainbows’ drops on the legendary Poker Flat Recordings, those lovely folk at Electronic Groove invited me to pick my all time top 10 Poker Flat releases
A most enjoyable exercise looking back through their considerable discography, it brought back many a lovely memory. It was hard to pick just 10 but here are the ones that made the cut.
As https://electronicgroove.com/dave-seaman-top-10-pokerflat-2023/
1. Trentemoller ‘Moan’
Quite simply one of my favourite electronic songs ever. A rare timeless beauty.
2. Raudive ‘Needles’ (Steve Bug)
First heard at an after hours party in Melbourne, it properly melted my mind. Still does!
3. Daniel Dexter ‘Sirens’
A massive mid-noughties favourite of mine. I absolutely hammered this.
4. Martin Landsky ‘1000 Miles’
Deep, dark underground club music. Poker Flat in a nutshell.
5. YouANDme ft. Ingrid Arthur ‘Pattern Of Greed’ (Jonathan Kaspar)
One of the first tracks that properly alerted me to the wonderful talent that is Jonathan Kaspar.
6. Mihai Popoviciu ‘The Swindle’
To my ears, probably the finest work from the Romanian producer’s extensive discography.
7. André Hommen ‘Centrifuge’
I included this on my Beyond Borders Berlin Mix Compilation back in 2015. It still sounds as classy as ever.
8. Trentemoller ‘Always Something Better’ (DJ Tennis & Mind Against)
Beautifully crafted deepness. A sumptuous ride.
9. Penatones ‘Karma Game’ (Steve Bug)
Another of Mr Bug’s finest ever remixes in my book. Accomplished craftsmanship.
10. Jeff Bennett ‘Swapping’
Another winner that I loved so much I included it on a mix compilation, my Therapy Sessions Vol 1, incredibly now 20 years old!
